DoubleRR
Carbon Unit's second outing and what a joy too, and in honour of his friend who is in a better place.
I bet she wishes she was back by his side as this Original Mix is superb and really invites the groove.
You know what? She IS by his side, and that's why we've got such a good track to listen to!
Jay Tripwire's mix is (thick) icing on an already delicious cake.
Bless you, Liz, and onwards, Carbon Unit.
Favorite track: 4 LIZ (Original Mix).
This is a tribute EP to the late great, Liz Edwards who sadly left us in June 2018. Liz was an absolute legend and for me, as well as countless other music lovers and vinyl junkies, she was my go-to person for buying records back in the days of SWAG Records. She also introduced me to the SWAG crew, the parties, but most importantly she inspired me and nurtured my many musical tastes.
Liz was, still is, and will forever more be immensely loved, adored and respected. She is hugely missed across the underground scene, but her name and her influence lives on through those that had the good fortune of knowing or meeting her. To be in her presence, whether talking about music, listening to records, cracking jokes or having a blast at a party, it really was so special and I am eternally grateful to have shared those moments, which I will forever treasure.
This tribute draws on many styles and sounds that Liz put me in touch with and I've tried to combine most of them into a single track. It's a long one, which is owed to the ethereal tail-off at the end, but believe me, Liz is worth every single second... I am also both blessed and honoured to have Jay Tripwire onboard to provide a lovely chugging, breakbeat/house remix.
This is... for our Liz x
